CaringBridge

Challenge

How to celebrate 20 years of CaringBridge and set them up for the next 20 years of success

Solution

The How We Heal Campaign: With twenty years of content and experience under its belt, CaringBridge was perfectly positioned to share out its message and impact with the masses - but we needed the right vehicle to do so. We put out the call to the experts themselves, the users of CaringBridge, to share their stories of healing. 20 families were curated in prioritized markets and, with the enlisted help of a National Geographic photographer, we were able to develop written, visual, and video content to be leverage on social media, the CaringBridge website, and out to media across the nation in targeted markets.

Coolibar

Challenge

How to capitalize on the general public’s understanding of the harsh impacts of sun exposure.

Solution

Target Women and Children: Coolibar had to meet new and young moms close to home, because the younger generation of parents is keenly aware of, and concerned about, sun protection for their children (more so than for themselves). They want a safe product that is easy to wear, comfortable for children and has sun protection they can trust. We targeted these audiences through getting Coolibar in the hands of influencers, creating more focus for the swim category, and highlighting the “layering story” that was strong during that fashion season.

MEDA

Challenge

How to create national exposure for localized efforts supporting minority business.

Solution

The Meda Million Dollar Challenge: The Meda Million Dollar Challenge became the largest minority entrepreneurial competition in the country, awarding $1 million in funding to minority businesses from across the nation. The “Shark Tank” style pitch competition included a speed-pitching event, Meda’s Boot Camp for Successful Pitches where finalists participate in a 6 week business bootcamp, and a final live pitch and awards ceremony. All for-profit minority owned businesses in the United States were encouraged to apply. The program not only opened up a gateway for other minority entreprenerus around the country to be interested in Meda, but also provided us continuous fodder for pitching targeted media in both our local and new national markets.

MEDA - CUMMINS

Challenge

How to generate small, local exposure within a short timeline of financial opportunities for local Black business owners.

Solution

In an effort to advocate for racial equity, Cummins Inc. provided Meda with $1 million in funding for forgivable grants and loans to give out to Black-owned businesses in the Twin Cities. An application was created with a two-week window for local businesses to apply for and receive part of the funding. In order to make Black business owners aware of the funding opportunity, BIPOC-specific publications were used to reach target audience as well as a strong focus on high impact mediums like TV and podcast. Media campaigns in accordance with strong social media presence and email campaigns led to incredible outcomes. As a result, so many businesses applied that there was a shortage in funding. Meda recommended those who didn’t receive money through this program to apply for other Meda opportunities and turned them into regular Meda clients.
